Linden Hall Northumberland, England.
The marriage of Vicky and David, at Linden Hall, Northumberland.
Linden
Hall is near to Morpeth. well, sort of. it's about a ten minute drive North
of Morpeth,
which is in the South of Northumberland,
which is in the North East of England,
which is . . . oh for heavens sake . . . .you get the picture . .

This is just moments before the wedding,
Vickys'
sister, one of her bridesmaids,
is working out how to get the veil down from the curtains.
I think it had hopped up and perched there for safety.
ON TO THE WEDDING !
David
is a seagoing chap.
He's a merchant naval officer no less,
Vicky first met him on deck
and was impressed by this tall chap in a white uniform.
Uniform
or not, he's a really good natured guy
I think you can tell by his smile !
anyhow - this looks like a brilliant summers day.
It was.
but heck it was hot,
One of the hottest days of the year !

Ah - heres a bit of a bouquet. >>
do we see black feathers . . ?
is this a hint of things to come ?
what else could be black . . .
bridesmaids dresses ?
ribbons n bows ?
we'll see . . . . . .
Black sashes on chairs . .
not an average wedding colour scheme . ..
Anyhow - what you see above is part of Vickys bouquet.

Chairs fill with bottoms.
ooh heck .. can I say that . .
err. just done it.
quick
-
change the subject in case anyones offended. .
guys and
guests await in the atrium
two of the lovely Morpeth registrars
are behind the the guys to ensure that there is no escape . .
you can't
see it very well from this picture,
but at bottom right is a grand piano,
hidden under the stairs.
Vickys
uncle Simon is tinkling away at the piano
providing light music for everyone.

we enter
a quick timewarp,
wedding over.
that was quick wasn't it !
and David grabs his girl for a kiss !
hah . . .done it !

As the register is signed,
a child,
not wearing a great deal,
leaps from one of the seats in the front row.
OK. you knew it was a statue, didn't you . . .
but I still think it's quite funny !
I clamber
under the stairs and find
Uncle Simons hands playing the piano.
OK. Uncle Simon was playing it too.
not just
a pair of hands you dope,
that would be errrr . . spooky

Bethany
to the left,
Elisha to the right,
both break into a run . .

OOOOh.
yeah, definitely a fall, poor kid, a couple of tears and she was doing it
again.
doing what again you ask . . ??? running. .??? well, she was running, and
falling again.
the kid kept doing it. dunno why. if you're a connoisseur of such things,
it was more of a dive than a fall.

Bethany, aged four, and Elisha aged six.
Bethany later proved that she had a talent for falling over in spectacular fashion.
as the next series of pictures show . . .

A hint
of something to come, guests hop outside of the doorway and ambush Vicky and
David
with a shower of rose petals.

Childrens
diving party pieces over
(I like children really . . honest . .)
Vicky
and David wander across the front of the building requiring some pictures.
heck, I'd better start taking some . .

Another little series of pictures.
the plan is . .
I take
a picture of Vicky,
with David in the background.
simple.
however,
at this point,
David
doesn't realise
that he's part of the picture.
Vicky is blissfully unaware . .
<< whoops, he's noticed the camera.
<< err. thinks David . .
that camera might be aimed at me . . .
hah . quick.
put the glass down
before anyone notices . . .
I mentioned it before, that smile of Davids really does show his character.
he's really quite good fun !

I'd better
take some pictures
making Vicky look good.
it's her wedding day after all
and she'd bop me if I didn't ..

But what . . .
what the heck is this >>
well,
remember I mentioned earlier that this was the
hottest day of the year . . .
someone had planned ahead !
& invested in dozens of little hand held fans . .
a fun
touch,
surely no one would use them . . .
the room did have air conditioning, but the weather was SO HOT !.
the little fans went down a treat !
oooh. nice n cool !

err . details.
flowers.
table deckies.
bags n things . . .
little
things that Vicky will have spent ages planning
and dreaming about.
it's nice to remember them with some pictures !

You're probably wondering whether
a) is the ivy real
b) why are we taking pictures of ivy ?
well, its' long story.
but in a couple of words.
1. yes,
the ivy is real, it was a hot day -so we hid in the shade,
there was some ivy on the shady side of the building.
2. I saw a chance to make a piece of artwork.
anyhow - it seemed like a good idea, so we just did it. . .

Err.
picture of Vicky
I shamelessly make a romantic wedding picture.
heck. I don't do this very much these days.
but we're wandering around the garden basically getting some fresh air and
well - the picture was there anyway - all I did was take it.

Another picture of Vicky
there's a pattern forming here.
wouldn't
be connected with the fact
that it's her wedding day would it . . ?
heck -
a gals entitled to look good
& have some decent pictures.
yep. she looks good to me,
we're hiding behind a tree cos it's cool . .
really
- that's the only reason,
otherwise we'd be hopping round the garden or something.

David notices that Vicky looks rather good at this point
so he makes an executive decision to get involved >>

we go back indoors
I take a couple of quick pictures

Vickys mum Kath makes wedding cakes.
she asked Dave what sort of food he really likes.
she got the answer,
maltesers.
although there was a really big 'proper wedding cake',
Kath made this little cake just for Dave.
<<<<

totally unposed picture
I just
noticed the two of 'em chatting,
waiting for the evening guests to arrive.

Ah, first dance.

I take a few more pictures of the dance then I disappear into the dusk.
what a day.
Building up speed here, both children clearly enjoying themselves.
do we detect any instability in Bethanys run . .?.
I have a thing about staircases,
I'm constantly
looking
for fresh viewpoints.
OOh
three pictures, can I cope.
well,
top left - uncle simon the ivory tinkler from under the staircase
(he played the grand piano under the stairs - but the title above sounds a
bit grander).
top right - best mans speech.
bottom left
bridesmaid shows me a bouquet.
