Wedding photography at Matfen Hall, Northumberland the wedding of Jane and Simon. starting at Janes parents house in Darras Hall,
at Janes parents house we find bundles of lilies - florist Jean Hepple has been at work . . . at this place - we also find a twinkly sparkly thing. what is this we ask ? and where did it come from ?
well - it's attached to some shooses - and where they came from is on the label of the bag. nope - not London. . the other place . . apparently - Jane made a shopping trip to New York especially to pick up these little gems.
and lurking round the corner - dresses await bridesmaids on a rack no - silly - the bridesmaids weren't on a rack - the dresses were. well - it was more of a rail really . . . anyhow let's get the conversation back on track shall we ? Jane is in her dress already . .
we fast forward to another place - I hop behind some girls waiting in a city centre doorway
lets hop round the front of them - what can we see . . . umm . . well it's those flowers from the picture above for a start . . .
and those dresses - the colour looks familiar . .
great . . we've established we're at the wedding . dresses above now filled with bridesmaids Jane and her father follow the bridesmaids in. cruising up the aisle - as one does . .
OK . I'm simply a peasant . I clamber up to a vantage point to observe the marriage - and also to take a picture of it. well - more than one picture actually - this one is taken from the other side of the cathedral - you've no idea how long a walk it was from one side to the next . . whilst sneaking about and avoiding being seen by anyone that is . .
one girl on the fiddle. or is it a viola ? it's all a matter of size apparently . . well, I'm told that makes no difference . . a packed house observes the wedding - we even have a singer performing live, (the use of the word live is quite silly really - you can see that she isn't dead or made of plastic or anything like that . . ) there is also a man sitting behind her reading a telephone directory
it's a catholic wedding, so there's a bit of standing up and saying things going on here . .
a very, very pretty girl sits in car and waits to be transported to Matfen Hall . . . . did I say she was pretty ? she's the bride of course.
byeeee . . ..
no caption required. what - you want a caption ? don't be silly it's a drink, well, drinks actually . . guests await our bride and groom in the Great Hall at Matfen
I sneak behind 'em and follow our couple down the staircase to greet the guests the moment of greeting revealed - and Simon looks proudly at his new bride whilst the entire assembled audience look proudly at the two of them - take snaps, gaze lovingly
ah - I forgot to mention - all of the placenames were written souvenir paperweights anyone ?
it all looks pretty transparent to me . .
OK. you wanted to see what Matfen Hall looks like. here it is. and oddly enough - since it's Jane and Simons for the day -
Jane looking a bit stunning near to a wall which is covered with deep crimson ivy - it looks a bit like a fashion picture. from a magazine . .
bride. groom. dress . stairs.
you want a comment ? OK beautiful bride Jane wearing a wonderful dress, poses on the staircase at Matfen. howzat. a cornercam view of the room at Matfen in which the wedding breakfast was held. the room has the somewhat unromantic name of 'terrace 1 or terrace 2' or something sounding like that . .
the brides father makes his speech - and refers to the brides mum - disco - dancing - band - atmosphere - looks cool to me . . I think that there should be a law - when it's the bride and grooms first dance,
two characters here running their own casino - awaiting the arrival of guests
Oooooh - I forgot to mention - you know the flower arrangement cleverly placed in the doorway by Jean Hepple the florist ?
well . . it lit up in the dark !
and how did this all end ? Mauritius I believe . . . (I've been told before - so I'll tell you again . . a wedding isn't an ending - it's a beginning !).
