PAGE EIGHT Donna.
I must be going through a shadow phase well - Picasso
had his blue period . . I'm sure that everyone goes through phases / moods / obsessions as they pass through their lives. with my photography,
I tend to find a theme and work around it for a while, my current phase involves light and dark. opposites, the subject at the juncture of light and dark is brightly lit in order to stand out . .
gawd strewth - you don't want to listen to all this stuff . . . I change direction every few months anyway - never really knowing which way things are going to turn out. but isn't that more interesting than 'having a style' or 'sticking to a safe approach' ? each day - each persons shoot is different . . it gives me more reason to look forward to doing what I do . . and takes photography
out of the realms of 'just a job'
steady on there matey . . can't be talking about passion here . . you never know who's reading this . . .
ANYWAY . . I like the picture below because it is graceful. the curves in the arm on the left are almost those of a dancer. the shadows give depth to the image and the tilt to the head add to the feeling of motion
A
viola and a girl. The straps on her dress almost make the viola look like a surrealist rucksack. Rene Magritte eat yer art out. (ok he would have incorporated a nude, but what the heck)
Voila,
leaving
simply
the image works well within the rectangle, simple but classy. my images don't always have to show faces !.
Sarah , floating, diving, dreaming or whatever...., I thought that the hand which dominates this picture is very like that of Adam/God in good old Michaelangelo Bounarottis' Sistine Chapel pic, for which he is justly famous. (yep - he got there with that one before I did !!), never mind - I bet he took longer to finish his than I did (If he was alive, he'd probably biff me for saying that - I know his pace of work on that job was a bit of a touchy subject !!) |
