PAGE FIVE

 Amy.

I sometimes like to do bits of folios in odd places,

this is definitely the industrial look.

I'm quite keen on the contrast between the cold blue grey
of the metalwork and the warm skintones of the model.

The original plan for the shot was soft slinky underwear versus the cold sharp metalwork of the industrial  look.

if nothing else - the colour contrast makes her leap out of the picture.

I think I'd like to take this picture again though,
same location - same angle - maybe a different pose.

there was certainly nothing wrong with the model -

it was just a little difficult working 10 metres up an industrial platform and I think I could do better next time.

any takers out there ??

Michelle and Dominique,

two vivacious sisters who are really good fun to photograph,
they came up with an endless supply of poses,
which saved my underpowered brain from thinking things up
and left me free to concentrate on making pictures.

The picture above won me an award for portraiture.

but how was it taken you ask ?

well, the girls were bouncing up and down on a trampoline in the studio.

This meant that the camera would have to move too,
so I attached myself, the camera and tripod to bungee straps dangling from the studio ceiling,
then bounced up and down until the photographer, the camera and the tripod were all leaping up and down  at the same time as the girls,
then, I whipped out a lightmeter, made a quick light reading, inserted a film in the camera
(using my teeth cos my hands were occupied with balancing) -
point the camera - focus - say cheese - press the button.

and if you believe that . . . .
