PAGE ONE

Portfolio. The word conjures up a vision of a models best pictures,
presented to an agency in order to get work, or perhaps a collection of a photographers best work.

Well - this area of my site shows what I'm currently getting up to and also illustrates what you, as a customer, can expect from me.

My philosophy is that the more pictures - the more CREATIVE pictures that I am able to produce, the happier I'll be.

note - our studio address is
12 GOOSE HILL, MORPETH, NORTHUMBERLAND, ENGLAND    NE61 1TL.

please consider your travelling distances etc before emailing us.

we reserve the right to accept or reject models without giving a reason,
so please don't take offence if you aren't what we're looking for.

if you have a really good idea / scheme for a picture, or if you believe that you can usefully model for us,
put your plans or ideas to us on an email - if you ask for nothing - you get nothing god loves a tryer ! etc etc

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS and helpful info . . .

We can airbrush pictures.
So if you suddenly get afflicted by a spot, right on the end of your nose, just on the day of your photo shoot - fear not - it can be removed without too much trouble.
If you bump your knee on a coffee table - making the biggest bruise ever seen,
you can laugh at the problem - we have the technology !.
the bruise can be taken out without any sign that it was there in the first place.
(same goes for the odd wrinkle if you have them !).

COLOUR OR BLACK AND WHITE ?
we do both - we can mix colour and black and white during the same session - just ask.

DEADLINES - YOU LEAVE THINGS TOO LATE -
if you have an urgent print deadline - you need the pictures taken yesterday
and you expect the photographer to go into a mad panic to get things ready for you,
treating you as a very special customer - . . .
our answer is SORRY -
normal day to day studio work will always be a higher priority to us than portfolio work.

DEADLINES - THE WISDOM - It is far more cost effective if you plan ahead -
have the pictures taken in good time and then you can get it right.

Do things NOW - not tomorrow - or some other time -
you will give yourself and your photographer an awful lot less hassle, and save money too !

IMPORTANT.

UNDER 18's - YOU MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian, I know that if you're 17 this will annoy you, treating you like a darned child etc etc - however - thats just tough - no one said life was fair ! .

OVER 18 - we understand that a lot of people like to bring someone with them - so - if you wish, you are very welcome to bring someone with you, we will sit them on a sofa, give them something to read, and will talk to them occasionally in order to make sure that they dont fall asleep.

RELAXATION - a lot of photographers advise that you have a glass of wine to help relax before a shoot. Please bear in mind that being tipsy is likely to lead to THE BIG CAR ACCIDENT

a glass of wine beforehand is therefore an idea that you can classify under VERY BAD IDEAS !.

You can bring a CD with some of your favourite music on it, this might help you to relax a bit., failing that, my musical tastes vary between Ibiza chilled and Shostakovich, so you've been warned.!
(better bring a CD, at least you can control what you are listening to).

Poses - I can direct you into zillions of wonderful and original poses never before seen by humankind. HOWEVER, an idea that you can classify under VERY GOOD IDEAS,
is that you get hold of a fashion mag (vogue or similar) check out some poses that you like and quietly practise them in front of a mirror when no one is looking,
that way, you will get a feel for what looks good and what doesn't.
you could even look up Vogue etc on the net - save the dosh on the mag !

Work out in your head the type of image that you'd like to project - how you'd like to be seen -
what you're comfortable with and what you're not - you can tell the photographer about this when you arrive. This means that both you and the photographer will be working to the same plan - not in opposite directions.

If you have any examples of the type of picture you'd like to have for yourself - bring them in - pages torn from magazines etc - this also helps to make sure that we're all working to the same plan !

NOTE if you bring a picture in as an example of what you'd like - please make sure that it is actually a print and not something on a CD. One lady brought a CD to the studio, insisted that it be inserted into our computer - then managed to infect our computer with a virus that took me flipping ages to remove. never again . . . . no CD's go into my machine except my own ! . .
